So far, 2025 has ushered in several exciting launches from Gibson Custom Select. There has been a mixture of vintage reissues with some wild twists, along with some high-spec Les Paul™ Customs from the Gibson Custom Modern Collection.

Gibson Custom Select is set to impress guitar enthusiasts and collectors with a distinctive new collection that blends classics with fresh creativity. Among the highlights are reimagined models such as a 1957 Les Paul Junior uniquely upgraded with a Bigsby® vibrato tailpiece and a bold 1957 Les Paul Special Reissue featuring a novel pickup arrangement—pairing a P-90 with a humbucker™—that promises sonic versatility.

Fans of Les Paul Customs with a splash of color will appreciate the groundbreaking introduction of the 1968 Les Paul Custom in an exclusive Jade Green finish—marking a striking visual departure never before seen from Gibson. Complementing these, the collection also boasts contemporary masterpieces like the Les Paul Custom with elegant f-holes in shimmering Champagne Sparkle and the Les Paul Studio Metallic Top presented in an eye-catching Pelham Blue. Each guitar exemplifies an ongoing commitment to bringing cool and eye-catching ideas to life.

Gibson Custom Select 1964 ES-345 reissues in four flavors

Only available through Gibson Custom Select and Made to Measure programs, the ES-345 is the dressed-up sibling to the classic ES-335. First released in 1959, ES-345 specifications have largely been the same since its introduction apart from neck profile tweaks and catalog-wide spec changes made throughout the years. The two commonalities between all four of these Gibson Custom Select 1964 ES-345s are the nickel hardware and a simpler electronics layout, which excludes the Varitone selector switch.

What truly stands out among these four guitars are the unique finishes. Other than some Walnut examples in the 1970s, historically, the ES-345 generally came in just three finishes—Sunburst, Cherry and ultra-rare Natural. These Gibson Custom Select 1964 ES-345 guitars are available in two classic Gibson colors, Antique Pelham Blue and Classic White as well as two brand-new colors, Sapphire Mist (complete with Bigsby) and Bronze Mist. While Sapphire Mist and Bronze Mist might be new colors for Gibson, these two finishes are actually sourced from the same 1959 Oldsmobile catalog where famous Gibson finishes such as Silver Mist and Frost Blue originated. These two new finishes also feature another first from Gibson Custom, a Dogear P-90 neck pickup fitted to an ES-style guitar in combination with a bridge humbucker.

1957 Les Paul Junior with Bigsby

This Gibson Custom Select 1957 Les Paul Junior features a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece with an ABR-1 bridge. Neither of these appointments is found on a standard Les Paul Junior but are now made available thanks to the Gibson Custom Select program. Usually outfitted with a simple wraparound bridge, the Les Paul Junior is capable of being a highly expressive instrument, even with its pared-down features. The addition of a Bigsby adds another level of expressiveness that is not found on any current Les Paul Junior model from the standard offerings.

1957 Les Paul Special Reissue, Heavy Aged, Walnut

Outfitted with a Custombucker pickup in the bridge position and a Dogear P-90 in the neck position, this 1957 Les Paul Special has a unique pickup configuration that is rare to find on a Les Paul Special. This is the first Les Paul Special to feature a Dogear P-90

1968 Les Paul Custom, Light Aged, Jade Green

Jade Green was a paint color that was offered in the 1959 Oldsmobile catalog alongside other famous Gibson “Custom Color” finishes such as Silver Mist and Frost Blue. This iteration of Jade Green was hand-mixed at the Gibson Custom Shop to match how the color appears on sheet metal to wood. Finished with nickel hardware, this 1968 Les Paul Custom is the first guitar from Gibson to be finished in this vibrant color.

Modern Les Paul Custom

Les Paul Custom with F-Holes, Champagne Sparkle, and 5A Quilt Cobra Burst

Another first for Gibson Custom Select are f-holes featured on a Les Paul with a solid maple top. This Les Paul Custom shows off the chambered mahogany body with f-holes that have been featured on ES™ guitars like the ES-335 and ES-295. There are two iterations of this Les Paul Custom with the same specifications. One is finished in Champagne Sparkle with an Ebony back, sides, and neck, and the other features a 5A quilt maple top finished in Cobra Burst.

Les Paul Custom in Andromeda Black

Featuring a new finish called Andromeda Black, this Les Paul Custom has a sinister yet flashy look with its black sparkle finish paired with chrome hardware. An uncovered Custombucker in the bridge position adds a bit of attitude to the guitar while giving it a modified appearance, but it is factory original. This Les Paul Custom may look like a standard production model from afar, but zoom in closer, and this guitar is much more special when it comes to the details.

Les Paul Studio Exclusives

Metallic Top in Pelham Blue, Figured Tops in Iced Tea and Dark Purple Burst

From traditional to modern finishes, these Les Paul Studios can only be found directly from Gibson. Loaded with a set of Burstbucker™ Pro pickups, these Gibson Les Paul Studios have been dressed up from the normal Les Paul Studios in the standard finishes. The Les Paul Studio Metallic Top features a Pelham Blue finish with a natural mahogany body and neck, which adds a nice contrast to the top and back of the guitar. AA figured maple is featured on two more, which are finished in Iced Tea and Dark Purple Burst.

Les Paul Standard 50s and 60s

Les Paul Standard 50s, Transparent Black + Les Paul Standard 60s with Gold Hardware, Root Beer

Transparent Black is an unusual finish for Gibson. Typically featured on maple tops, this finish puts the figured maple on display with a unique shade of gray and black. This Les Paul Standard 50s has all the core features of the standard guitar but with a unique finish. It has been a number of years since Root Beer has been available in the Gibson lineup. This time around, the finish is featured on a Les Paul Standard 60s, complete with gold hardware to contrast the brown finish.

ES-335 Custom Color extensions

With the introduction of the ES-335 Custom Color series, there are two exclusive colorways available only from Gibson. Taking inspiration from models from the 1950s, like the 1952 Les Paul and ES-295, this ES-335 features the iconic Goldtop finish with a “dark back” and black plastics. This feature set is oddly rare. Ocean Water Perimeter is the exclusive finish on the ES-335 Figured Custom Color model, which proudly displays the figured maple top, back, and sides while giving the guitar a modern aesthetic.
