Get ready to drool over these fresh hues for the iconic ES-335
The elegant beauty of the Gibson ES-335 design has endured since 1958. In a move that will delight long-time fans and new admirers, Gibson has officially unveiled its latest Custom Color Series for the iconic ES-335 alongside the luxurious ES-335 Figured. The ES-335 is celebrated for its versatility; this series features a range of eye-catching nitrocellulose finishes that make a statement right out of the gate.
New finishes for the ES-335 Custom Color Series include Watermelon, Spearmint, and Ocean Blue. The ES-335 Figured is available in Blood Moon Burst, Deep Ocean Burst, and Honey Amber. Each guitar also comes with a Gibson hardshell case, so it’s ready for life on the road.
Master Luthier Jim DeCola hit the nail on the head, saying, “Being a semi-hollow body design, the ES-335 imparts tonal and visual characteristics which bridge the gap between a fully hollow body and a solid body design. This hybrid design creates its own unique sound and look, making it incredibly versatile for many genres of music. We’re proud to introduce the Custom Color Series to satisfy the requests for additional colors by many of the younger and newer fans of the ES-335 guitar.”

A mainstay in the Gibson lineup for more than six decades, the ES-335 has found an application in nearly every music genre. The design has also enjoyed an unbroken production run since 1958, a boast that not even the venerable Les Paul™ can claim. With this series, players can explore fresh visual territory without compromising the classic tone and feel they’ve come to expect. Unlock every sound from an ES-335 and experience for yourself what everyone is talking about.
The ES-335 in the Custom Color Series is crafted with a layered maple/poplar/maple body and a solid maple center block, delivering signature warmth, sustain, and impressive feedback resistance. A comfortable Rounded C mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard ensures effortless playability and smooth bends, while Gibson’s Calibrated T-Type humbucking pickups yield an expansive tonal palette. Finishing touches include Vintage Deluxe tuners, a nickel-plated ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic™ bridge, and black Top Hat knobs with silver reflectors.

For those who crave elevated aesthetics alongside the legendary ES-335 tone, the ES-335 Figured delivers in spades. Built with the same foundational design elements—semi-hollow construction, solid maple center block, Calibrated T-Type pickups—this model ups the ante with a 3-ply AAA figured maple/poplar/maple body and quarter-sawn Adirondack spruce bracing. The result is a stunningly figured top and back, bound for added style.
A Rounded C mahogany neck, bound rosewood fretboard, and lightweight aluminum hardware emphasize comfort, stability, and sustain. The ES-335 Figured is also equipped with Vintage Deluxe tuners, a Graph Tech® nut, and hand-wired Orange Drop® tone caps, ensuring players can confidently dial in the perfect sound.
