Gibson Garage London hosts the debut of the Merc x Gibson Capsule Collection

Live performances from Kid Kapichi and Blue Stragglers kick off the collaborative fashion launch, available only at the Gibson Garage London

Gibson has teamed up with British apparel label Merc to create the Merc x Gibson Capsule Collection, a limited-edition line that merges the heritage and aesthetics of both brands. This collaboration pays tribute to the enduring connection between music and fashion, showcasing designs that draw on Gibson’s iconic instrument legacy and Merc’s celebrated British style.

The launch is marked by a kickoff event on February 24 at the Gibson Garage London, featuring live performances from Kid Kapichi and Blue Stragglers. This collaboration underscores London’s ongoing status as a nexus of musical innovation and fashion, inviting style enthusiasts and guitar lovers to celebrate its storied cultural legacy.

Featuring five exclusive pieces, the collection includes the Luthier Polo Shirt, the Tone T-Shirt, the Riff T-Shirt, the Bridge Hooded Sweatshirt, and the Legend Harrington Jacket. The Merc x Gibson Capsule Collection is only available at the Gibson Garage London; orders can be placed over the phone by calling +44 20 4570 5400.

“Merc is excited to collaborate with Gibson and we are proud to present a capsule collection that embodies the essence and celebrates the rich heritage of both brands,” says Sas Alavi, Managing Director at Merc. “It’s not just clothing; it’s a statement that pays homage to the powerful connection between music and style.

“The range has been meticulously designed to seamlessly blend the aesthetics of Merc and Gibson while appealing to modern sensibilities, creating pieces that resonate with both style enthusiasts and guitar lovers alike.”

Kid Kapichi, a rising British punk-rock band noted for their electrifying fusion of punk, rock, and alt influences, has partnered with Gibson and Merc to launch and model the new line. The quartet recently announced headline tour dates for 2025, including a date at London’s Wembley Arena in April, as well as a show at the iconic Royal Albert Hall supporting the godfathers of punk, the Sex Pistols.

“It’s a pleasure to be working closely with two iconic brands. As time has gone on, we’ve naturally fallen more into the laps of Gibson guitars as I think their sound is unrivaled for the music we create,” says Kid Kapichi. “So, to work with them on multiple projects is such an honor. Merc has always made fantastic high-quality clothing, and Gibson has always made insanely high-quality instruments, so it’s a match made in heaven.

“It was an easy decision to say ‘yes’ when we were asked to work with the new collaboration. Merc has always lovingly recreated beautiful items from the 60s era. One that is strongly connected with music and bands we’ve all loved our entire lives. We’ve been influenced by these bands, and the clothing goes hand in hand with that, too.”

The Gibson Garage London is celebrating its first anniversary in style with a week-long series of public events and special exhibits from February 18-24. The Garage has become a vibrant hub for music lovers and musicians, featuring many electric and acoustic guitars for visitors to try, live performances, and exclusive launches.
