Earlier in 2024, Gibson introduced other notable Certified Vintage drops, including vintage Epiphone models. By providing a meticulous certification process, Gibson assures buyers that each instrument meets its exacting standards for historical accuracy, originality, and condition. Each certified vintage guitar also arrives with exclusive extras, enhancing the overall ownership experience. Take a look at the latest offerings in more detail below.
1981 Gibson ES-347 Left Handed, serial number 82941056
The Gibson ES™ line has evolved significantly since the ES-150 debuted in 1936, including the 1978 introduction of the ES-347 as a coil-tap-equipped alternative to the ES-345. This particular 1981 ES-347 model is in exceptional, near-mint NOS condition, complete with its original clear protective plastic pickguard covering and hardshell case. Its pristine state and historical significance make it a rare time capsule piece that remains highly appreciated by collectors today.
1982 Gibson Leo’s Les Paul, serial number L 1 0131
This rare 1982 Leo’s Les Paul showcases the final Kalamazoo era of Les Paul production and evokes Gibson’s late-50s craftsmanship. Its condition is very good, with mild checking, minor lacquer crackling near the neck joint, and a few small indentations on the back. This unique “pre-reissue” guitar, featuring a Kalamazoo-specific serial number, comes with a brown and pink Lifton™ five-latch reissue hardshell case.
1952 Gibson ES-295, serial number A-12067
This ES-295 is in excellent original condition with only minor wear, including light finish greening, slight neck wear, and minimal hardware plating loss. A missing pickguard bracket nut was replaced with a Custom Shop replica, and Tom Murphy expertly removed minor overspray on the headstock. With no evidence of breaks or repairs, it comes strung with flatwound strings, features a factory out-of-phase middle position, and includes its original Lifton case.
1955 Gibson Les Paul Custom, serial number 513507
This 1955 Les Paul Custom is in excellent original condition, showing only minimal wear and one small ding on the back. It was shipped on January 13, 1956, as part of a batch of five Les Paul Customs likely intended for export. The guitar comes with its original black and gold Lifton hardshell case.
1960 Gibson ES-335, serial number A33064
This stunning 1960 ES-335 is in excellent condition, showing only light lacquer checking, nicks, and dings. It retains notable 1959-spec appointments like a long pickguard and gold Top Hat knobs, and it shipped on March 18, 1960. While it has been refretted and its collapsing original bridge has been replaced with a Custom Shop ABR-1, it still comes with its original hardshell case, strap, contract, and hangtag.
