Legendary guitarists share their prized Gibson ES-335 guitars in a must-watch episode of The Collection

Gibson TV continues to showcase amazing guitars and their stories—now it’s the turn of the iconic Gibson ES-335

In a rare gathering of music industry royalty, Gibson has assembled some of the most iconic names in music—including Peter Frampton, Joe Bonamassa, Kirk Hammett, Rick Nielsen, Jason Isbell, Charlie Starr, and Mike Campbell—to showcase their favorite Gibson ES-335 and ES™ guitars. Hosted by Mark Agnesi, this special ‘best of’ compilation from Gibson TV series, The Collection, is a can’t-miss episode for fans of storied semi-hollow instruments.

Kirk Hammett proudly displays his factory black 1959 ES-335, a unicorn even among the world’s greatest vintage collections, while Peter Frampton chronicles his journey to acquire his own beloved ’59 model in Cherry. Charlie Starr discusses the unique markings on his ’64 ES-335 and how the instrument shaped his sound, while Jason Isbell takes us back in time with his 1961 model—the one he couldn’t pass up.

Meanwhile, Joe Bonamassa details the origin of his 1963 instrument, and Gibson President & CEO Cesar Gueikian recounts how he landed his treasured 1964 ES-335—later used to inspire Gibson Custom Historic Collection guitars.
