In the wake of the monumental Jimmy Page 1969 EDS-1275 Doubleneck Collector’s Edition and Jimmy Page 1964 SJ-200 releases, guitar enthusiasts and Led Zeppelin fans have another reason to celebrate as Gibson Custom launches its latest Jimmy Page signature instrument. Few instruments are as instantly recognizable as Jimmy Page’s original EDS-1275 Doubleneck. Immortalized in photographs and performances with Led Zeppelin, the guitar allowed Page to switch seamlessly between six and 12-string parts during live renditions of classics such as “Stairway to Heaven,” “The Song Remains the Same,” “The Rain Song,” “Celebration Day,” and “Tangerine.” Most recently, Page wielded his legendary instrument at The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in November 2023.

Crafted in close collaboration with Page himself, the Jimmy Page EDS-1275 Doubleneck VOS saw Gibson Custom employ cutting-edge 3D scanning technology to create an effective clone of the original guitar as it appeared before the wear and tear of extensive touring. The VOS nitrocellulose lacquer finish imparts a softly aged patina, capturing the look and feel of a well-preserved vintage instrument.
The guitar features a double-cutaway, one-piece mahogany body that provides exceptional access to both the 12-string and six-string mahogany necks. Both necks have long tenons and are fitted using traditional hide glue, with profiles recreated from precise 3D scans of the original instrument. Each neck is topped with a bound Indian rosewood fretboard, equipped with 20 medium jumbo frets and adorned with aged cellulose nitrate parallelogram inlays.
Authenticity extends to the hardware, with 18 Kluson® double-line, double-ring tuners mirroring those on Page’s original guitar. The headstocks feature the correct 17-degree angle and specific logo stylization, ensuring even the smallest details are faithful to the original.

Electronics play a pivotal role in replicating the legendary sound. The guitar is equipped with four Jimmy Page EDS-1275 Custombucker pickups featuring double black bobbins and Alnico 5 magnets. The six-string neck sports uncovered pickups, while the 12-string neck has covered ones, just as on the original. Control is provided by two volume and two tone knobs with CTS® potentiometers and period-correct ceramic disc capacitors, along with Switchcraft® pickup and neck selector switches and output jack.
