Custom artwork by John Knell adds a unique touch to this shredder

Kramer unleashes its latest addition to the Made to Rock Hard pantheon: the Kramer 84 Custom Graphics Purple Splatter. This electric guitar fuses the classic look of the 80s with modern performance features. With the 84, Kramer blends cutting-edge design with its iconic roots in a way that is sure to appeal to guitarists of all skill levels.

This release follows soon after Kramer celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Kramer 84, with other models updated as part of the festivities.

A striking design with custom artwork by John Knell

At first glance, it’s impossible not to notice this model’s head-turning Purple Splatter finish, a Kramer-exclusive design created by renowned artist John Knell. The bold graphic, paired with a matching purple headstock, gives this guitar a unique visual appeal that reflects rock and metal’s rebellious and vibrant spirit. This guitar stands out because of its artistic finish and carefully engineered body designed for performance and comfort.

Built for speed and comfort

The Kramer 84 honors the brand’s original golden age in the 1980s but doesn’t stop at nostalgia. It’s been fine-tuned to suit the needs of today’s guitarists who demand speed and precision. The lightweight alder body, rear tummy contour, and deep double cutaways offer unparalleled comfort for extended playing sessions. The smooth, satin-finished maple neck ensures fluid playability, while the Kramer K-Speed SlimTaper C profile provides a fast feel for shredders.

For creative soloing, 22 jumbo frets on a 25.5” scale maple fretboard make it easy to execute precise string bends and masterful vibrato, all while ensuring easy reach to the highest notes.

Hardware that delivers precision

Reliability is at the core of the Kramer 84’s hardware. Equipped with a Floyd Rose® 1000 Series Tremolo and an R2 Locking Nut, the guitar provides rock-solid tuning stability even during the most aggressive dive-bombs and whammy bar theatrics. Die-cast tuners and a conveniently placed Allen wrench holder on the back of the headstock make for quick and easy adjustments when needed so players can stay focused on their performance.

Sound that cuts through the mix

Beneath the stunning exterior lies the true power of the Kramer 84: the Kramer 85-T humbucker. Designed by Gibson Master Luthier Jim DeCola, this pickup boasts high output, delivering scorching tones that can drive any amp into a frenzy. The zebra bobbins add a visual punch and enhance resonance and sustain thanks to the body-mounted design.

The guitar offers straightforward controls, with a single volume knob featuring a push/pull potentiometer for series/parallel coil switching, providing two versatile tones from one humbucking pickup. This no-nonsense setup ensures players can focus on their sound without distraction, while the rear-mounted volume knob keeps the stunning Purple Splatter graphics front and center.

Gig-ready and roadworthy

For guitarists who are always on the go, Kramer includes a premium gig bag with every purchase of the Kramer 84. Whether you’re heading to a local gig or traveling across the country, this durable case ensures your instrument stays safe and ready for your next performance.
